Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome also known as AIDS is a serious microbial disease that attacks the immune system. Caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), AIDS progressively reduces the ability of the organism to fight infections and diseases. Infection of HIV primarily occurs through sharing needles.
